At Last

Friends, whatever you do, do not put masking tape on wood.  It gets left there sometimes and causes real headaches later to remove.

The loom has been cleaned and parts replaced.  It has a new home by the window, and the rest of the studio has been rearranged to accomodate the new item.  I'm thankful we have a basement so the studio could be split in half.

I can't wait to get started on this loom.

My loom came home today.  Best that I can figure I am the fourth owner of this loom.  Her first owner signed the manual with her name and the date March 20, 1971.  I signed below with the date.

The loom needs some cleaning, some wood pampering, some of her tie ups replaced and a place to be set up.  She is a 36" wide Artisat model from Leclerc of Quebec, Canada.  Perhaps she and the CPW will be able to converse in French when I'm not around.

There are so many things going on right now.  So many things to tell my readers about.  This has been my year so far.  I've hit the ground running.   I've noticed huge leaps forward in many areas.  All the growing pains have paid off.

I have several things waiting to be photographed for the blog and various other sites.  Over break I finished two quilts and made progress on another.  Last week I finished a sweater's worth of handspun yarn.  I have a few bits leftover that may need to be spun up for accent, but for now I have 1,500 yards of worsted weight just begging for a project.  I'm debating about a sweater, but also considering weaving with it.  What do you think?
